Job Purpose & Responsibilities

The Center for Executive and Professional Education Director (CEPED) leads, develops, and manages AURAK’s executive and professional education and consulting business, within the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the wider national community to enhance the university’s community outreach and increase its revenue sources. The CEPED will play a pivotal role in shaping AURAK's strategic direction in executive and professional education and in growing the consulting business at AURAK. The post-holder is responsible for the management of the staff members assigned to the Center for Executive and Professional Education and works collaboratively with AURAK’s schools, administrative departments, institutes and centers, and with the different partners and clients to generate a profitable corporate learning, development, training, and consulting enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications and Education

  • Essential:Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, education leadership, curriculum development, economics, innovation and entrepreneurship, or a related field. Knowledge of and experience in implementing Instructional technology/curriculum design, and technological advancements.
  • Desirable:(PhD or EdD) in a related field.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of and experience in implementing: market analysis, skills and competencies assessment and management, curriculum development, online and blended learning, labor market analysis, business development, training and development, financial and revenue management, and event management.
  • Planning, prioritizing, organizing, scheduling, overseeing event logistics, time management, flexibility, multitasking, communication, advocacy, negotiation, analysis, and evaluation, and proficient in advanced technology skills.

Work Experience

  • At least 12+ years’ work experience in learning and educational development and/or business development.
  • 7-10 years’ progressive experience in an academic and/or administrative leadership role in a medium to large sized public or private corporation or higher education institution, or an entrepreneurial/innovation or learning and development center.
  • 5-7 years’ expertise in course design/management, qualifications development, marketing, business development and/or related functions.

Language proficiency required

  • Native Language or Fluency in English.
  • Advanced proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English required.
  • Intermediate proficiency in speaking, reading and writing Arabic is a great asset.
