Job Description

The Senior Manager, Strategy and Investments will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives and managing the investment portfolio of the company. This includes developing long-term strategic plans, conducting financial analysis, assisting mergers and acquisitions (M&A), performing due diligence, and collaborating with senior leadership to ensure that investment and business decisions align with the overall corporate strategy. The role also entails coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of strategic projects and contributing to the financial growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning and Analysis:

- Lead the development of long-term corporate strategies, including setting financial and strategic goals in collaboration with the leadership team.

- Perform in-depth market research and competitive analysis to support strategic decisions.

- Provide recommendations on new market entry, product development, and overall business growth strategy.

2. Investment Management:

- Identify new investment opportunities and evaluating their potential financial impact.

- Develop detailed business cases and financial models for proposed investments, including scenario analysis, valuation, and ROI projections.

- Conduct due diligence on potential M&A targets, assessing financial health, strategic fit, and potential risks.

- Present investment recommendations to the senior management and board of directors.

3. M&A and Corporate Transactions:

- Lead M&A activities, from deal sourcing and negotiation to execution and post-merger integration.

- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, finance, and external consultants, to ensure successful transaction outcomes.

- Manage the pipeline of acquisition and divestiture opportunities, ensuring that the company’s financial and strategic objectives are met.

- Oversee the integration of acquired companies, focusing on maximizing synergies and ensuring smooth transitions.

4. Financial Modeling and Valuation:

- Create detailed financial models for investment analysis, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning.

- Evaluate business units and projects using various valuation techniques (e.g., NPV, IRR) to support strategic decision-making.

5. Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams (finance, legal, operations) to align strategy and investment decisions with corporate goals.

- Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members, mentoring and developing talent within the strategy and investment function.

- Act as the liaison between internal teams and external advisors, ensuring effective communication and project management.

- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with investment decisions and M&A activities.

- Ensure that all strategic initiatives align with the company's risk tolerance and governance framework.

7. Reporting and Presentation:

- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, board meetings, and investor presentations, outlining investment opportunities and strategic initiatives.

- Track and report on the performance of the investment portfolio, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field. MBA or relevant Master’s degree preferred.

- Professional Certifications: CFA, CPA, or equivalent is a plus.

Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in strategy, investment management, corporate development, or related roles.

- Proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and managing M&A activities, including due diligence and post-merger integration.

- Experience in financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis.

- Prior experience in consulting, private equity, or corporate finance is highly desirable.

- Industry Knowledge: Exposure to [insert relevant industries such as real estate, healthcare, energy, etc.] is preferred.

- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think long-term and develop actionable business strategies.

- Financial Acumen: Strong financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis skills.

- Leadership: Proven leadership experience, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior management.

- M&A Expertise: Strong knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, deal structuring, and post-merger integration.

- Communication Skills: Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful execution.

- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex investment decisions.

- Stakeholder Management: Experience working with senior executives, boards, and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in working with government entities, regulatory bodies, or sovereign wealth funds.

- Proficiency in analytical tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Excel for data visualization and decision support.

- Proficiency in MS Powerpoint to create presentation decks
