Sales and Business Development Executive
Your Responsibilities
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager, ideally with a focus on Sea- and Airfreight Imports from Germany and Western Europe. The ideal candidate will be a proactive business developer with an existing client base, strong commercial acumen, and a hands-on approach to account management and solution selling. Expertise in chemicals, dangerous goods, and tank container knowledge is a strong asset and considered an additional benefit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new business opportunities in the chemical logistics sector.
- Hunt and secure new accounts, with a focus on chemical clients and import accounts from Europe/Germany for long-term business development.
- Build and execute customer strategies, including preparation and delivery of effective client meetings.
- Act as the liaison in case of escalations, collaborating with Operations Management to plan and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the Leschaco overseas network to generate and act on international sales leads.
- Prepare and submit quotations in coordination with the pricing team.
- Support procurement by assisting in rate renegotiations, when applicable based on market knowledge.
- Document all sales activities in CRM (Salesforce) to ensure visibility and accountability.
- Perform additional tasks as delegated by the line manager in line with business priorities.
Your Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related discipline.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in freight forwarding, preferably with a strong focus on chemical logistics and import flows via Sea- and Airfreight from Germany and Western Europe.
- Strong understanding of European trade lanes, particularly import flows from Germany, including documentation and compliance.
- Proven success in both growing existing customer accounts and bringing in new business.
- Established client base within the chemical/freight forwarding sector is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with tank container operations and relevant safety/compliance standards.
- Proficient in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office tools.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
