Position Overview

The successful candidate will be a key part of the Engineering Team, responsible for project and construction management of industrial development, including new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives from site selection through contract execution. Responsibilities include constructing new Fulfillment Centers (FCs), Sortation Centers (SCs), Delivery Stations (DSs), auxiliary buildings, renovations, and tenant improvements.

They will also oversee the implementation of facility network infrastructure, perform detailed budget and program reviews, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery. The Construction Manager acts as Amazon's representative in dealings with developers and contractors, serving as the primary interface between construction and other stakeholders involved in FC operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage projects for new construction and renovations within the AMET region.
  2. Advise on schedule, cost, and permitting impacts.
  3. Support scope review and development with technical teams and operational customers.
  4. Manage multiple projects, from small renovations to large facilities ($100M+).
  5. Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analyses.
  6. Negotiate contracts and manage subcontractors.
  7. Oversee site management, planning, and coordination.
  8. Assess project performance using KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
  9. Review designs for conformance and value engineering opportunities.
  10. Handle cost and time change requests and negotiations.
  11. Coordinate with regulatory bodies and authorities.
  12. Maintain clear communication across teams.
Daily Activities

You will represent Amazon GES in project delivery, process improvements, and team leadership. Tasks include site validation, risk analysis, design management, negotiations, and stakeholder engagement. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with all levels of management.

Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, commerce, business administration, or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English and at least one of the preferred languages: German, French, Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, Zulu, Portuguese.
