Job description

Job Purpose

dnata Airport Operations’ vast ground handling operations successfully service the major global hub that is Dubai International Airport. We deliver a seamless experience from check-in to baggage delivery for more than 80 million passengers and 140 scheduled airlines annually.

As a Junior Accountant, you will support the finance section by generating financial entries and invoices, performing basic receipting and payment functions, and reconciling clearing accounts maintained by the finance team. You will also provide high-quality administrative support to ensure accurate and efficient service delivery.

In This Role, You Will
  1. General
  2. Log invoices upon receipt, ensuring they are assigned to the correct supplier account and certified for prompt processing. Return invoices with inadequate information to the supplier.
  3. Update the financial system with accurate details for invoice generation, payments, receipts, and other financial entries.
  4. Check documentation for deviations from accounting procedures and report discrepancies to your supervisor.
  5. Generate and dispatch financial documents, ensuring entries are supported by adequate documentation.
  6. Maintain records of process requests, enquiries, claims, and reconciliation statements, escalating queries as needed.
  7. Respond promptly to daily queries from staff, finance sections, or external clients, investigating issues to ensure accuracy.
  8. Perform allocations and basic reconciliations for various accounts to ensure transactions are correctly booked.
  9. Specific Responsibilities
  10. Revenue Accounts: Monitor credit card clearing accounts and billing processes to ensure timely collections and accurate balances.
  11. OF&RM: Manage credit buffers for clients, updating systems and liaising with Credit Controllers for approvals.
  12. Corporate Accounts: Generate supplier cheques following company policies and approvals.
  13. Cash Control: Process transactions, tally cash, and reconcile collections daily. Escalate discrepancies immediately.
Qualifications & Experience

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 3+ years in finance and insurance accounting
  • 10 years of schooling or equivalent
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to multitask effectively
