Job description

This position will be a key player in elevating the level of Internal Control across the entire region. You will interact with all facets and levels of business in Middle East and Africa, UAE network with many functional experts, global process owners and be exposed to the Global Internal Audit team members around the world.

The Schneider Electric Internal Control framework encompasses all areas of the business including but not limited to: Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, HR, Pricing, Solutions (Projects), Field Services, as well as the traditional Finance and Accounting Operations. The Global Internal Auditor is responsible for leading and managing internal audits aimed at:

  1. Assessing the level of internal control within Schneider Electric
  2. Identifying areas where performance can be improved
  3. Measuring how operational risks are monitored and mitigated
  4. Following up on the implementation of audit action plans

The role involves planning and executing financial, operational, and compliance audits, ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls, and providing recommendations for process improvements. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading audit scoping, overseeing the audit process, managing team interactions, defining the audit program, assigning tasks, and coordinating fieldwork with guidance.
  • Providing organization and guidance during fieldwork while coaching auditors.
  • Conducting interviews, tests, and data analyses to identify root causes, evaluate process efficiency, and make recommendations for compliance.
  • Presenting significant findings to both the auditee and Senior Management, including the final audit report. A data-driven mindset is crucial.
  • Executing data extraction scripts, consolidating results, and proposing impactful visualizations.
  • Conducting interviews and performing additional tests to validate assumptions and ensure analytical reliability.
  • Knowledge of audit analytics software and tools, programming languages such as ACL, SQL, Oracle, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, and audit management tools like TeamMate or AuditBoard is an advantage.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (master's preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, or CISA are highly desirable.
  • 8-10 years of relevant audit experience, with 4+ years in supervisory or managerial roles.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing principles, practices, and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in audit software and data analytics tools.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Ethical conduct and confidentiality.
