Position Specific:
- The AHT - TLC will be non-class based but may have some teaching responsibilities to promote successful practices across the secondary school.
- Ensure all teaching demonstrates best practices, develops relationships, supports training and development, and prioritizes quality teaching to ensure all children make excellent progress.
- Take lead responsibility for the curriculum, provision, well-being, progress, and achievement of all children, emphasizing enrichment, creative learning, and extended services.
- Model professionalism by setting an excellent example for staff and actively promoting achievement through implementing school policies.
- Develop and deliver the curriculum within the department in accordance with Ministry of Education, KHDA, and school standards.
- Participate in curriculum review, development, and management activities.
- Ensure the academic integrity of the curriculum, monitor student outcomes, and maintain high standards of delivery.
- Lead by example in teaching practice and support staff to provide a high-quality, engaging, and well-resourced curriculum for all pupils.
- Collaborate with the Head of Secondary and leadership team in developing, implementing, and reviewing school improvement plans.
- Adapt the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with special educational needs, gifted and talented students, and English language learners.
- Implement differentiated teaching strategies to cater to various learning styles and abilities.
- Integrate activities fostering enterprise, innovation, creativity, and social contribution across curricula.
- Develop and manage extracurricular activities supporting students' personal and academic growth.
- Embed Emirati culture, traditions, and values into the curriculum to enhance cultural understanding.
- Establish strong community links to enrich students' learning experiences.
- Regularly review and refine curriculum adaptations to align with students' evolving needs and national priorities.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend leadership meetings and collaborate with other departments and management.
- Advise the Head of Secondary on resourcing, budgeting, and staffing needs, including recruitment.
- Assist in proofreading and editing school publications, letters, and website content.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Head of Secondary.
