Job summary

A leading company in the financial services sector is seeking a UX/UI Director to lead high-impact design projects in the MENA region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in strategy consulting and a strong background in UX design principles. This role involves managing client engagements, leading design workshops, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Lead the sales and delivery of high-impact Product Experience and Design (PxD) projects in MENA, resolving complex strategic problems and meeting business targets for clients.

  2. Proactively manage client engagements in key markets to foster value-added services growth.

  3. Lead the planning and delivery of solutions and service line offerings into MENA, working with Solutions and Hub leaders to address client needs in the region.

  4. Identify additional client project opportunities and lead the preparation of proposals for new work.

  5. Structure projects linked to product and experience design, devising approaches for solving client problems using design thinking methodologies.

  6. Structure and facilitate co-creation workshops with clients.

  7. Oversee and create user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) solutions focused on human-centered design.

  8. Work closely with clients in banking/finance sectors to understand their needs and develop strategies to meet them effectively.

  9. Lead consulting assignments involving UX design, strategy, user research, information architecture, interaction design, UI design, and usability testing.

  10. Promote a culture of continuous improvement in UX/UI design and usability.

  11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, and product managers to ensure seamless, user-friendly experiences.

  12. Stay current with the latest UX/UI trends, techniques, and technologies.

  13. Support knowledge development and dissemination across the wider CEMEA region, aligned with the CEMEA VCA Digital and Strategy Lead.

  14. Assist CEMEA Consulting & Analytics leadership with project and practice economics, value forecasting, burn rates, utilization, scorecards, and risk and quality management.

  15. Develop intellectual property and share knowledge with consulting and data science teams in other regions to incorporate best practices and solutions, bringing a global perspective to local clients.

  16. Play a leadership role in talent recruitment, coaching, and development of consultants.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally with proven experience as a UX/UI Director or similar role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in strategy consulting, preferably with banking/finance clients.
  • Proficient in design software (such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD) and other visual design tools.
  • Strong understanding of UX design principles and techniques (e.g., Human-Centered Design - HCD).
  • Strong facilitation and client management skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Experience in large-scale change management initiatives, either in consulting or practitioner roles.
  • A combination of local/regional (CEMEA) and global experience in financial services is highly desirable.
  • Ability to develop strategies and activities to enhance program effectiveness based on performance data.
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Relationship management skills to handle internal and external stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work on client sites across CEMEA.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; fluency in Russian, Arabic, or French is a plus.
