Key activities and competencies

The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and validating the Project Quality Management System to ensure all activities meet ENGIE's policies, contractual requirements, and international quality standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing the Project QA Manual, defining quality objectives, and implementing QA/QC procedures.
  • Maintaining and improving the QA/QC system, including audits.
  • Reviewing and approving Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) from EPC contractors and subcontractors.
  • Leading audits across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Implementing inspection and testing strategies covering the entire PV plant construction lifecycle.
  • Supervising inspection activities on-site, in vendor premises, and engineering offices.
  • Ensuring proper document control in coordination with the Document Control Manager.
  • Promoting digital tools and best practices for quality management.
  • Leading root cause analysis and resolving non-conformances.
  • Ensuring quality deliverables meet client expectations and standards.
  • Monitoring quality KPIs and reporting to management.
  • Providing quality inputs to project reports and risk assessments.
  • Supporting commissioning and handover with quality documentation.
  • Coordinating FATs and SATs with vendors and service providers.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality checks, commissioning, and testing requirements.
  • Verifying incoming materials meet specifications.
  • Managing site punch lists and quality walk-downs.
  • Training site staff and subcontractors on quality standards and inspection protocols.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Quality Management
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in project quality management, including GCC experience, with a strong background in QA/QC for large EPC projects.
  • Experience in solar PV projects, including tracker, module, inverter, and cable installations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and international quality standards for renewable energy.
  • Experience conducting quality audits across design, manufacturing, and site phases.
  • Hands-on experience with non-conformance management and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures for solar PV plants.
  • Experience with civil and electrical interfaces in large projects.
  • Familiarity with quality requirements for solar BOS components.
  • Experience with substation integration and SCADA systems oversight.
  • Ability to implement quality tools.
  • Experience in PAC, FAC, and final project quality dossier preparation.
  • Stakeholder management experience, including clients and lenders' engineers.
  • Experience with quality inspection of single-axis tracker systems and PV module alignment.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC procedures for DC cable routing, combiner boxes, and string testing.
  • Oversight of material inspection and testing, including foundations and concrete works.
  • Experience in QA documentation for governmental and grid authority inspections.
