Role Purpose

The Education Counsellor provides excellent counselling services to guide international students in choosing institutions that align with their learning and career goals. This includes offering information on study opportunities, local education systems, culture, and geography, assisting with application documentation, facilitating enrolments, and promoting IDP products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Counsel prospective students to identify suitable study options and institutions.
  2. Conduct phone discussions and meetings to convey course information and address student needs, including admissions and qualification advice.
  3. Assist students in shortlisting applications to optimize counselling efficiency.
  4. Support students through admissions, visa, and pre-departure processes.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with students and their families to position IDP as a trusted service provider.
  6. Uphold high standards of integrity and ethics in all interactions.
  7. Provide outstanding service to convert students to the next stage of the application process.
  8. Identify lead opportunities and develop relationships with prospective schools, universities, and scholarship bodies.
  9. Utilize CRM systems to support the counselling process, including lead management and follow-up.
  10. Explore new business opportunities in consultation with the Business Unit Manager.
  11. Maintain regular contact with key accounts such as schools and scholarship organizations.
  12. Respond promptly and accurately to face-to-face, phone, and email inquiries.
  13. Process applications, obtain offers, and facilitate timely enrolments.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience in a sales-driven environment with target achievement focus.
  • Knowledge of education institutions, admission, and immigration processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for service excellence.
