ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Customer Advisory Architecture Advisor bridges the gap between the customer’s business strategy and relevant solutions by crafting business and solution architectures and roadmaps at the enterprise level.

This role provides thought leadership on new technologies and recommendations for adoption, supporting customers in developing future state architectures and roadmaps to meet feasibility and business goals. The Advisor maintains alignment between roadmap execution and target architecture to facilitate business transformation.

ENGAGEMENT SUPPORT ACTIVITIES

The Advisor possesses advanced knowledge to connect SAP and non-SAP landscapes, advising senior leaders and executives on strategic architecture. Key responsibilities include:

• Positioning SAP’s value aligned with customer priorities
• Conducting assessments of business capabilities, application, and infrastructure architectures
• Defining and integrating business, data, application, and technical architecture domains, engaging specialized architects as needed
• Driving architecture governance to ensure consistency and cooperation across domains
• Leading development of target architectures and customer roadmaps ensuring feasibility
• Aligning architectures and roadmaps with customer adoption plans and SAP teams
• Introducing new capabilities and innovations to address customer needs and extend SAP’s footprint

ACCOUNT-PLANNING & MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategizing with account teams to identify opportunities, set goals, and develop action plans
• Adopting a challenger mindset to challenge assumptions and provide insights that drive value
• Advising customers and SIs on implementing architectures and successful adoption plans

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understanding customer industries and business models to identify new opportunities and develop growth strategies
• Building trusted relationships with customers as a trusted advisor

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years as Solution, IT, or Enterprise Architect
• Experience leading enterprise architecture and cloud roadmaps for large customers
• Knowledge of SAP reference architectures or similar frameworks
• Experience managing enterprise-wide frameworks and repositories
• Effective communication with IT and business organizations
• Expertise in end-to-end processes and solution matching
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Proficient in English; business-level language skills required

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent minimum
• TOGAF or similar certification required; SAP or industry certifications preferred
• Experience in large IT departments, consulting, or software vendors as an Enterprise Architect preferred
• Experience in IT application sales support or large-scale solution implementations (preferably SAP)
• Masters degree optional
