Job Position: Team Leader Environment

Department: GRCS

Business Unit: QHSE Environment

Job Purpose: The role is responsible to promote sustainability by actively participating in waste collection and transportation, ensuring proper documentation is maintained while coordinating with recycling contractors to promote sustainable ways of working. It will also oversee a team, ensuring that the assigned area and specifications for waste recovery is provided to them.

Key Result Areas:

1. Supervise staff within the area of responsibility to ensure that all employees comply with environment standards and specifications.
2. Responsible for managing waste streams, improving recycling and reuse efforts, and reducing energy and water use.
3. Monitor the staff time and attendance, minimizing overtime to ensure compliance with operational requirements, Company rules and regulations.
4. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely clearance of recyclables to avoid any impact on the operation.
5. Ensure clear communication and of assignments to Team Members, including deadlines and quality standards to be met.
6. Ensure daily reporting of all recycling activities and proactively suggest improvements to enhance sustainability practices.
7. Address matters of poor performance and misconduct in the first instance and report violations.
8. Support the Managers in implementing the Zero Food Waste initiative to achieve measurable reduction in food waste and total landfill trips.
9. Comply with the Company Occupational Health & Safety Policies, Quality Policy, Hygiene Policy and Environment Policy.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills:

Education Qualification:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Additional certifications in environmental management, sustainability, or waste management are an advantage.

Work Experience:

1. Minimum 3 years of experience at a supervisory level, preferably with an Airline Industry background.
2. 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, such as waste management, recycling, or logistics, is preferred.

Skills:

1. Strong attention to detail, especially in sorting and handling recyclable materials.
2. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.
3. Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
4. Basic knowledge of safety protocols for material handling and transportation.

Good communication skills for reporting and documentation.
