Black & Grey HR is partnering with one of the UAE's top-tier construction and infrastructure companies to recruit a Commercial Manager. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of commercial operations across high-value infrastructure projects, ensuring profitability, contractual compliance, cost control, and risk mitigation from start to finish. If you have deep experience in managing complex construction contracts (FIDIC-based), leading commercial teams, and driving strategic project outcomes, this role offers the opportunity to make a high-impact contribution within a well-established, growth-focused organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management & Risk Control - Lead the review, negotiation, and administration of contracts including main contracts, subcontracts, guarantees, and commercial terms. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Claims & Dispute Resolution - Manage EOT and cost claims, ensuring robust documentation and adherence to contractual timelines. Oversee the claims lifecycle, coordinate with legal teams, and represent the company in dispute resolution processes when needed.
- Procurement Oversight & Cost Control - Lead procurement for subcontractors, materials, and services aligned with project budgets. Monitor and control costs through real-time tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure alignment between procurement and project delivery teams.
- Project Financial Management - Produce budgets, cash flows, forecasts, and sensitivity analyses. Provide reporting on cost performance, profitability, and financial risks. Monitor KPIs such as CTC, CVR, and earned value metrics.
- Commercial Strategy & Delivery Optimization - Align commercial execution with project strategy, design milestones, and risk frameworks. Drive weekly reviews on commercial health, resourcing, and timelines. Promote commercial excellence through strategic planning and value engineering.
- Process Improvement & Operational Excellence - Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risks. Introduce systems for better cost visibility, contract management, and reporting. Support digital tool adoption like ERP, Candy, CostX, and Oracle.
- Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement - Lead and develop a team of quantity surveyors, procurement specialists, and support staff. Act as the commercial point of contact for internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Ensure cross-departmental alignment on goals and deliverables.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Certifications: MRICS, PMP, or FIDIC certification preferred.
- Experience: 10-15 years in commercial management within construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Regional Experience: At least 5 years in the UAE or GCC, with a portfolio of mega-projects (AED 300M+).
- Contract Knowledge: Strong command of FIDIC and regional contract forms.
- Tools: Proficient in ERP, cost management, and reporting software.
