We are currently looking for a Specialist / Lead HVAC Engineer to be based in Abu Dhabi.
Responsibilities
- Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
- Deliver technical documents including Equipment Specifications and Design Assessment Reports, ensuring high quality standards.
- Ensure design compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
- Review Contract Scope of Work, Design Basis, BEDD, Project Specifications, Equipment & Package Data Sheets, Control Room & Other Rooms/Shelters Layouts, Architectural Drawings, Duct Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs & D&IDs), Plot Plans, GA Drawings, Fire & Gas Detection layouts, Philosophies, HSE requirements, and other relevant documents.
- Review proposal engineering documents, assist Lead Engineer in identifying discrepancies, and raise technical queries.
- Assist in FEED verification and Design Review activities.
- Identify engineering deliverables, schedule activities, and prepare the Technical Document Register (TDR).
- Prepare HVAC Data Sheets & Schematics, including equipment sizing, heat load, ventilation, and pressurization calculations.
- Develop technical specifications for equipment & packages, covering design conditions, utility requirements, metallurgy, environmental regulations, and interfaces.
- Develop HVAC control system operational philosophy and provide I/O point inputs for system design, ensuring integration with F&G and instrumentation systems.
- Manage interfacing and integration of equipment/packages with plant facilities, including issuing engineering documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC) and managing technical interfaces.
- Review engineering documents from other disciplines, provide inputs and comments relevant to HVAC units and interfaces.
- Prepare RFQs, evaluate bids, and prepare Technical Bid Evaluation Reports (TBE) for review and approval.
- Prepare Technical Purchase Requisitions, finalize supplier requirements, and participate in Kick-Off Meetings with suppliers.
- Review shop performance tests of equipment & packages, review test reports, and provide acceptance recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Master's degree is a plus.
- 15+ years of experience in civil and structural engineering within the oil & gas industry.
- Proven experience in FEED, detailed design, and offshore projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design software and structural analysis tools.
- Deep understanding of international codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience in project management and leadership in large-scale projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Offshore project experience is essential, with an understanding of the unique challenges involved.
