Job Description

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Business Finance to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide crucial support to management decision-making by delivering relevant financial information through meticulous management reporting, insightful analysis, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finance leadership roles within the e-commerce or fintech industry, coupled with a proven track record of driving growth and profitability.

1. Prepare accurate financial analysis and reports to inform business decisions, and manage the development of a detailed five-year financial outlook in line with the annual business planning process.
2. Ensure that financial statements adhere to GAAP, are delivered on time, and align with regulatory requirements, working closely with external auditors during audits.
3. Establish and maintain strong internal controls to protect financial assets, proactively identifying and resolving issues that affect financial and non-financial performance metrics.
4. Keep an external perspective by monitoring industry trends and economic shifts, providing fresh ideas and best practices to challenge and improve current processes.
5. Lead international financial operations by overseeing currency-related matters and ensuring that all practices comply with both local and international accounting standards.
6. Collaborate with finance teams across regions to standardize accounting practices and improve reporting efficiency.
7. Guide budgeting and forecasting efforts, analyzing budget variances, and delivering financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
8. Ensure compliance with tax regulations in multiple regions, including the UAE, Europe, and the USA, while developing tax-efficient strategies that optimize the company’s tax position.
9. Evaluate, implement, and maintain advanced financial systems like Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
10. Mentor and develop team talent, setting SMART goals and KPIs, and driving forward-looking agendas focused on strategic objectives and risk management.
11. Qualified Accountant: CMA, CFA, ACCA, CA.
12. Possesses excellent commercial and business mindset.
13. A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in International Finance and Taxes, preferably in the Fintech/eCommerce sector.
14. Demonstrated success in defining and tracking success metrics for a business.
15. Strong knowledge of UAE legal and financial regulations.
16. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
17. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing business environments.
18. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and extract insights.
