Job description

Our Global PMC Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Civil / Utilities Inspector to join their team in Madinat Zayed, Abu Dhabi, UAE to work on a new infrastructure project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Civil / Utilities Inspector working in a recognised PMC or Consultancy company background. Preference will be given to those who have worked on infrastructure projects in the UAE / GCC previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6-12 Month Contract position as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: • Attending to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and taking appropriate action in a timely manner. • Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements, and international best practices. • Report any works carried out by the contractor found to not be in accordance with the approved drawings and specifications, and report to stakeholders for appropriate action. • Monitor the quality of work and assess the safety at site, including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual / QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments. • Maintain records for daily activities on site, including progress photos, and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required. • Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events. • Check and ensure effective co-ordination between discipline related work and all other disciplines. • Provide technical input and experience to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise. • Drainage work, Utilities, traffic control, lighting. • Potable water, Firefighting networks, security system etc. • Installation of electrical equipment related to traffic signals, ramp metering and street lighting. • Irrigation and planting, roadway and overhead sign removal and installation. • Installation on temporary and permanent signs and delineation. • Building and facility construction and associated site development. • Preparing daily, weekly and monthly report as per the Project requirements.

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering discipline. • Minimum 5 years of experience • Previous experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects including road works, utilities within UAE. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction specifications and processes related to civil inspection. • Strong analytic capabilities and the ability to work independently.
