Job description

The Assistant Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading the procurement team, supporting the Line Manager in managing purchasing processes, and ensuring accurate documentation control and compliance for all inbound and outbound procurement-related documents.

Responsibilities and duties

  1. Manage and supervise the daily activities of the purchasing function.
  2. Assist in the development and execution of procurement strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  3. Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain supplier relationships.
  4. Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual terms and key performance indicators.
  5. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other essential data.
  6. Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, finance, production) to identify procurement needs and ensure timely supply.
  7. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  8. Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and new suppliers.
  9. Assist with budget planning and cost control initiatives.

Qualifications & Training

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

5-7 years’ experience in procurement/ Supply chain

Knowledge

  • Negotiation techniques/Data Analytics

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in SAP 4Hana systems and Microsoft Office Suite (mainly Excel, PBI, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
