About the role
The Saikind Lead Hostess is the first and last point of contact with the guest upon entering/exiting the restaurant. She is the first and last impression the guest will have of the outlet and is an integral part of guest satisfaction.
What you will do
- Lead and train Hostesses to perform their tasks smoothly and properly.
- Seat guests promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party and according to guest preference.
- Set up the host/hostess stand, review guest reservation book, make recommendations for room setup, maintain a station chart and cover count, and recognize the maximum workload capacity of each server to meet Four Seasons Service standards.
- Answer telephones according to Four Seasons standards, take guest reservations, or provide information regarding the restaurant or other hotel services.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond to inquiries or problems, recognize regular guests by name, and use their names consistently.
- Inspect and maintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition, and appearance; develop a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items and specials.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
- Communicate with guests and employees using a positive and clear voice. Listen to understand requests, respond appropriately, and provide accurate information.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the F&B Outlet Manager, Director of Beverage, Assistant Director of F&B, or Hotel Manager.
What you bring
- 2 to 3 years of previous experience as a Lead Hostess in a luxury bar.
- College education or equivalent experience.
- Experience in similar roles within luxury hotels is an advantage.
- Knowledge of food & beverage service, cost control, labor management, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting.
- Ability to operate computer systems related to food & beverage service.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Understanding of division operations, Four Seasons standards, policies, and procedures, generally learned on the job.
- Positive attitude with a team-oriented approach.
- Ability to proactively anticipate and prioritize guest needs.
