Job description

We are seeking an experienced Digital Applications Architect to join the Portfolio Management Office (PMO).

The candidate's primary role will focus on shaping the program's digital transformation. The candidate will leverage deep expertise in Digital Platform technology and extensive experience with mega project portfolio management platforms and tools to support all portfolio levels (PMO / PMCs / EPCs / etc.). Proven track record in consultancy for developing digital platforms within the project management industry is essential to create comprehensive blueprints and cloud-based digital platforms for a mega project portfolio program.

This role is primarily focused on developing digital platform solution strategies and roadmaps, conducting market surveys, shortlisting digital platform vendors, designing platform integration for various digital applications, and developing detailed design and implementation roadmaps, including developing RFPs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop digital platform & integration technology strategy, platform reference architecture, and platform data architecture management for identified modules.
2. Develop data analytics technology strategy leveraging AI / ML for business intelligence tools.
3. Develop governance frameworks for Advanced Work Packages (AWP) and engineering tag data management across all project levels.
4. Design scalable and standardized data architecture, including pipelines, storage, and backup/recovery plans.
5. Create functional and technical criteria for assessing digital platform vendors, including Digital Twin and AWP platforms.
6. Identify and recommend platform integration solutions and develop detailed integration architecture, API specifications, and workflows.
7. Conduct market surveys and shortlist vendors based on technical and functional criteria.
8. Develop data governance frameworks, including roles and responsibilities.
9. Collaborate with cloud security and network architects to ensure architecture aligns with cybersecurity mandates.
10. Regularly review platform strategies with stakeholders and adapt to technological and business changes.
11. Develop and execute piloting procedures, security assessments, and risk analyses.
12. Create deployment roadmaps with phased implementation, timelines, milestones, and KPIs.
13. Implement change management, performance monitoring, and logging mechanisms.
14. Identify and resolve performance issues and optimize resource allocation.
15. Establish policies for data lifecycle management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Digital Transformation, or related fields.
• 10+ years of experience, including 8+ years in designing and deploying project management digital platforms.
• Proven track record in implementing complex mega project management platforms.
• Experience with relevant ecosystems such as AI/ML, AR/VR, ERP, SAP, Microsoft Power BI, Digital Twin, AWP, IIoT.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and their operating models (edge, public, private, hybrid).
• Expertise in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud integration tools.
• Knowledge of data architecture tools, API management, ETL processes, and data storage solutions.
• Extensive experience in integration strategy and architecture, monitoring, and testing frameworks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prepare technical documents and presentations effectively.
• Fluency in English and Arabic; additional languages are a plus.
