Job Overview:
The Structural/Architectural Draftsman will be responsible for creating precise and detailed technical drawings for various construction projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires proficiency in drafting software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD tools) and a strong understanding of principles coordination with all discipline (M.E.P; ARCH; STR; etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and Design:
- Prepare detailed architectural and structural drawings for Projects, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and more details ( Architectural and Structural ).
- Produce accurate and clear blueprints for both structural and architectural purposes based on the designs provided by engineers or architects.
- Interpret sketches, specifications, and design documents to create technical and details drawings.
- Work closely with architects, other engineers, and project managers to ensure that all drawings meet project specifications and codes.
- Revise drafts and drawings based on feedback from architects, engineers, or clients.
- Coordinate with other members of the design and construction teams to ensure all aspects of the project are consistent.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure that all drawings comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain knowledge of current building materials, methods, and technologies to ensure the accuracy of designs.
- Document Management:
- Organize and maintain an efficient filing system for all drafts, revisions, and project documentation.
- Create as-built drawings and other documentation required for project completion and future reference.
- Quality Control:
- Perform quality checks to verify that drawings are complete, accurate, and ready for submission.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues with designs before final submission ( prepare R.F.Is to discuss about it ).
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to the project team during construction, including assisting with field measurements and verifying site conditions.
- Address and resolve any design or drawing-related issues that may arise during construction.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Degree or diploma in Drafting, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software is a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a draftsman in the architecture or structural field.
- Familiarity with construction techniques and building codes.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of architectural and structural design principles.
- Familiarity with structural analysis and materials.
- Attention to Detail:
- Ability to produce high-quality, precise drawings with attention to detail.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with architects, engineers, and clients.
- Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to identify and address design issues, offering solutions to improve the project.
Working Conditions:
- The role may require office work, but some site visits may be necessary for measurements or project assessment.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be needed to meet deadlines.
- Working under pressure based on the site requirements ; running tasks and planning schedule.
