We are seeking a Planning Engineer to support multiple data center projects for a top technology company. This client-facing role involves complex planning and scheduling tasks, including change management, scheduled maintenance, and multi-project resource management.

Responsibilities:
  1. Establish strong relationships with clients and communicate effectively with technical and management personnel.
  2. Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
  3. Work with clients and contractors to develop work breakdown structures (WBS), CPM baseline schedules, and integrated master schedules (IMS).
  4. Load schedules with resource and cost data.
  5. Perform resource analyses to identify bottlenecks.
  6. Maintain and update schedules and reports regularly.
  7. Prepare and present progress reports and recommendations to management.
  8. Coordinate reviews of schedules with consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  9. Report on schedule changes, delays, or accelerations.
  10. Track and analyze onsite construction productivity.
  11. Develop and implement an earned value management system (EVM).
  12. Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  13. Conduct what-if and delay analyses.
  14. Serve as the primary communication link with clients regarding contracts and project progress.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • 4+ years of construction planning and scheduling experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, engineering, project management, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of construction and scheduling best practices.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (resource and cost management) and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience creating various reports for different audiences.
  • Experience in client-facing roles.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical construction programs effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Construction Management.
  • Experience with Power BI, data centers, Earned Value Management, and certifications like PSP or PMI-SP.
  • Active membership in PMI, AACEi, or similar organizations.
