Job description

The Pilot is an integral part of the SAR crew and operates under the direction of the Duty Captain when on duty. This is an advanced-level position within a helicopter rescue unit, requiring a current instrument rating on type. As a SAR Pilot, the candidate must be highly proficient in Search and Rescue operations for both day and NVG flight. The Pilot is required to maintain satisfactory annual flight evaluations for Standardization, Instrument Flight, NVG, and SAR Mission Operations. Additionally, the Pilot must maintain an annual medical evaluation and meet the currency requirements for CRM and HUET / HEEDS training.

Responsibilities include :

• Perform duties as a pilot of a SAR crew to conduct all Search and Rescue missions assigned, including Medical Evacuation flights.
• Assist in mission planning, prepare the aircraft for departure, and perform all tasks assigned by the PC.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of SAR-related mission tasks, flight profiles, aircraft systems, and Search and Rescue flight operations.
• Ensure compliance with all ATP requirements annually.
• Perform as Pilot on AW139 as directed by the Pilot-in-Command, including scheduled and unscheduled flights, functional check flights, and support missions as per customer requirements.
• Recommend changes to improve the proficiency of the SAR system and team members.
• Contribute to developing future SAR strategies to enhance support to the UAE community.
• Support infrastructure development for search and rescue operations, communications, training, and simulation systems.
• Handle any other tasks assigned by the supervisor / manager.
