Gensler's Middle East is seeking an exceptionally talented and passionate Landscape Architect to join our team of design thinkers and doers who specialize in helping to tell stories and create experiences within the built environment. You will work on a broad range of projects as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes landscape and urban designers, architects, and interior designers.
What You Will Do
As a Landscape Architect, you should be innovative and passionate, with strong concept schemes, an understanding of technical delivery, and experience in the Middle East and internationally. You can work independently or as part of a team and collaborate with other practices within the office. Be an advocate for Gensler's sustainability commitments both internally and externally.
- Work closely with the Studio Director and design team to develop urban planning and landscaping solutions for various projects.
- Develop, collaborate on, and present design concepts, ideas, and proposals to clients, consultants, and project teams.
- Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.
- Conduct site visits, analyze sites, and develop design solutions addressing site-specific challenges and opportunities.
- Create detailed landscape drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors and other stakeholders during design and construction phases to ensure correct implementation of designs.
- Promote collaboration across disciplines to foster innovation, motivate talent, and support design experimentation.
- Support project sustainability targets throughout all phases and actively engage in achieving them.
- Study sustainable design strategies at every project stage and investigate solutions to sustainability challenges.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize sustainability performance through design iterations and research.
- Engage in climate-focused analyses and studies for each project.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
- 0-5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in landscape architecture.
- Strong design skills and a passion for innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and solid 3D skills in SketchUp, Rhino, or 3ds Max. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Experience with LandFX is highly desirable.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices.
- Understanding of local and international design standards and requirements.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, including freehand sketching.
- LEED, WELL, Fitwel, LFA, or other rating system accreditation is preferred.
- Demonstrated collaborative approach towards sustainability goals.
- Motivated to expand knowledge and experience in sustainability on a personal and team level.
Your Design Technology Qualifications
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for design documentation and project delivery.
- Experience with Rhinoceros for design development.
- Basic understanding of real-time rendering, material creation, and management within BIM and parametric workflows.
- Familiarity with multi-model collaboration principles.
- Understanding of interoperability workflows between design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, etc.
- Basic knowledge of computational design applications like Grasshopper and Dynamo.
- Familiarity with VR walkthroughs and panoramic visualization techniques.
Applications should include a portfolio and/or work samples in PDF format.
