Job Description

As the Master of Finance at MYQUBATOR, you will hold a key leadership position with significant responsibilities in overseeing fund disbursement and allocations to startups, ensuring adherence to budgets and forecasts. The incubator's ultimate responsibility is to disperse investors' funds based on milestones agreed upon during the my studio workshops. You will play a vital role in meeting with startups regularly to discuss their financial positions, plans, risks, and opportunities.

In this multifaceted role, you will train founders to think like CFOs and investors, empowering them to remain on track and make informed financial decisions. As the Master of Finance, you will be heavily involved in company valuations when the need arises, collaborating closely with the Visionary in Chief, Profit Pioneer, and respective founders to align on exit strategies and fund-raising series.

One of your key responsibilities will be to manage all banking and financial relations for the incubator. Additionally, you will be accountable for updating stakeholders, investors, and relevant authorities on the financial activities and positions of the startups. Your role also includes analyzing the respective startups' financial plans, addressing risks, and identifying opportunities for growth.

Your financial strategies will play a pivotal role in the success and long-term sustainability of the incubator. Through budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, you will offer insights into the financial health of MYQUBATOR, ensuring prudent risk management and sound investment decisions. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying appropriate funding sources and maintaining compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.

Job responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the incubator's vision, goals, and long-term sustainability. Craft financial plans that support startups in achieving their objectives and align with the incubator's overall mission.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, providing accurate financial forecasts and performance analysis to guide decision-making. Monitor budgetary adherence and ensure effective resource allocation.

3. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports to the management team and stakeholders, offering insights into the financial health of the incubator. Communicate financial updates clearly and transparently.

4. Risk Management: Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the stability and continuity of the incubator. Implement risk management practices that safeguard the incubator's financial interests and those of the startups.

5. Funding and Capital Structure: Oversee fundraising efforts and capital allocation, identifying appropriate funding sources for the incubator's growth. Work closely with the Visionary in Chief, Profit Pioneer, and founders to secure necessary funding and align on capital structure.

6. Investment Analysis: Collaborate with the Profit Pioneer to analyze potential investment opportunities and assess their financial viability. Support the decision-making process regarding investment choices.

7. Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements, overseeing external audits when necessary. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

8. Financial Leadership: Provide financial guidance and support to startups within the incubator, helping them make informed financial decisions. Train and mentor founders to think like CFOs and investors, empowering them to manage their financial operations effectively.

9. Banking and Financial Relations: Manage all banking and financial relations for the incubator. Foster positive relationships with financial institutions and stakeholders.

10. Stakeholder and Investor Updates: Regularly update stakeholders, investors, and relevant authorities on the financial activities and positions of the startups. Tailor communication to each stakeholder, highlighting startups that align with their investment preferences.

11. Financial Analysis: Analyze the respective startups' financial plans, addressing risks, and identifying opportunities for growth. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

12. The Master of Finance holds a permanent seat on the investment committee, which is responsible for screening and handpicking startups.

Job requirements

1. Education: Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA are advantageous.

2. Experience: Extensive experience in financial management, preferably in a startup environment, venture capital, or private equity.

3. Financial Acumen: Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, conduct forecasting, and make data-driven decisions.

4. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to the overall strategic planning of the incubator.

5. Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills to guide the finance team and collaborate with other members of the management team.
