We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Control Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and performance monitoring for large-scale projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with the required quality standards. The Project Control Manager will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement effective project controls systems and processes that enable project success.
Role & responsibilities
- Coordinate & manage the project control resources required to deliver the project successfully and cost-effectively.
- Oversee progress and risks reporting, including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop & manage the project budget, oversee the cost control team & techniques.
- Support project control management, including baseline schedule development, performance status and reporting, baseline change control, risk management, and earned value management.
- Ensure proper reporting to management on project progress, risks, variation trends, and spending plans.
- Advise and consult on effective planning techniques and controls, including creating, managing, and optimizing formats and project control best practices.
- Monitor procurement and inventory.
- Conduct project audits.
- Identify contractual obligations, document submission requirements, and project risks, then inform/advise relevant management levels.
- Perform other duties as advised by management.
Preferred candidate profile
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or a related field. Certifications such as PMP or PgMP are preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 10-12 years of experience in project controls, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Proven experience managing large, complex projects in construction, engineering, or oil & gas sectors is preferred. Strong expertise in scheduling, cost control, and project performance monitoring.
- Skills and Competencies: Advanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project). Strong understanding of earned value management (EVM) principles and other project control techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Other Requirements: Detail-oriented with high organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Knowledge of project management standards and methodologies (PMBOK, Agile, etc.).
