Job Title: Financial Manager

Location: Dubai, UAE

The Job

The primary role of the Finance Manager is to ensure the financial integrity of the business operations for AVEVA Software Middle East (UAE).

Core responsibilities include managing the finance function, monitoring and supporting finance department performance, and ensuring adherence to group policies and statutory requirements, including full accounting and tax compliance in line with local UAE regulations.

The role requires in-depth knowledge of local UAE accounting principles and tax law, with significant hands-on experience in managing key processes.

Good controllership at AVEVA means focusing on data accuracy, understanding the balance sheet, adhering to internal controls, timely reporting of results to the Group, and engaging with the wider finance team to improve processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing and reporting activities; including preparing accruals, reclassifications, reallocations, etc.
• Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with Group accounting policies; review significant accounting judgments.
• Maintain relationship with the shared service centre (SSC): act as the primary contact for key finance processes such as Record to Report, Purchase to Pay, and Invoice to Cash; review deliverables such as reconciliations; ensure service delivery aligns with local regulations; participate in reviews and follow up on action plans; assist in processing nonstandard transactions.
• Review and correct purchase orders and goods receipts to ensure smooth booking of supplier invoices.
• Review payroll reports prior to payment.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory tax requirements in UAE, including reconciliation and filing of returns for CIT, VAT, and WHT.
• Prepare and review weekly cash flow and cash forecasts; submit funding requests or loans as needed.
• Act as a business partner to leaders, collaborating on financial performance, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Drive process improvements in end-to-end processes to meet business objectives.

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with the Group's internal control framework and enhance controls where necessary.
• Prepare annual financial statutory statements.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors regarding audits and compliance.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements for record archiving, safekeeping, and company secretary matters.

Projects

• Participate in implementing new tools and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with UAE statutory requirements.
• Engage in finance-related projects such as system implementations and process improvements.

Essential Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or Finance (graduation or post-graduation).
• Proven 10+ years of experience in Finance, with at least 3-5 years as a Financial Manager or similar role.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.
• Advanced written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in all forms.
• Attention to detail, meticulousness, ability to prioritize, and willingness to learn.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good understanding of finance and ERP systems; knowledge of Oracle Financial Applications and HFM is a plus.
