Job description

A Product Owner creates a product roadmap and defines the strategic vision for their team, aligned with the overall company vision. They possess a deep understanding of the target market and industry, building close relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the team’s efforts support the broader strategy.

The Product Owner manages dependencies across teams, identifies and builds strategic partnerships, and works closely within their team to translate business value and user feedback into new developments. They are accountable for specific KPIs related to their product area.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Set and communicate a clear, ambitious product vision to stakeholders and the team.
  2. Develop end-to-end team output strategies from inception to production.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of digital vision and product requirements.
  4. Manage product-specific KPIs post-launch and report progress regularly.
  5. Translate user needs into user stories and maintain a backlog 3-4 sprints ahead.
  6. Deliver multiple projects and manage all change elements responsibly.
  7. Lead change activities and maintain a strategic delivery roadmap.
  8. Manage projects of varying scales from idea to closure, using appropriate governance.
  9. Ensure delivery within scope, time, and budget, with proper resource planning.
  10. Build and maintain stakeholder relationships and manage project risks and dependencies.
  11. Coordinate work across departments to ensure resource availability.
  12. Oversee third-party providers to ensure quality and timeliness.
  13. Report progress to senior management and facilitate release planning and demos.
  14. Work onsite daily with Agile teams, integrating usability research into product requirements.
  15. Make decisions within policy frameworks, setting priorities and plans.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's/Master’s in engineering or relevant business field.

Minimum Experience: 7 years total, with at least 4 in the metal, mining, or energy industries; experience leading Agile projects as a Product Owner and Scrum Master; formal project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).

Proficiency in project management, Agile practices, technical engineering standards, analytics setup, and UX/UI collaboration. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills are essential. Experience with data transformation projects, third-party management, and relevant technology stacks (Azure, Power BI, etc.) is preferred.

Skills and Mindset

Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing backlogs, and team metrics. Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. A mindset open to innovation, change, and continuous learning, fostering a culture of transparency and trust.
