Core Mission
The Internal Auditor will be responsible for conducting audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across the organization. This role ensures compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices while identifying opportunities for operational improvements. The Internal Auditor works closely with different departments to enhance accountability and internal control effectiveness.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
Annual Audit Planning:
- Support the development of the Annual Audit Plan by identifying key risk areas and providing input based on data analysis and operational reviews.
Policy & Process Development:
- Assist in refining and implementing audit policies, procedures, and methodologies in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Operational Responsibilities
Audit Execution:
- Conduct internal audits across financial, operational, and compliance functions, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Perform control testing and assess risk exposure, working with business units to identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize data analytics to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
Operational Audits:
- Execute operational audits to evaluate business processes, resource utilization, and efficiency improvements.
- Identify gaps in internal controls and provide recommendations for process enhancements.
Compliance Monitoring:
- Monitor compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and risk management frameworks.
- Report on findings and track remediation efforts with relevant departments.
Audit Reporting:
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations for management and the Audit Committee.
- Assist in follow-up reviews to ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
Fraud and Special Investigations:
- Support fraud investigations and audits related to misconduct, collaborating with management and external regulators when necessary.
- Conduct forensic analysis to detect irregularities and potential fraud risks.
Coordination with External Auditors:
- Assist in engagements with external auditors, ensuring smooth coordination and alignment of audit procedures.
Collaboration & Scope
Primary Liaison with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with finance, operations, compliance, and IT teams to evaluate and strengthen internal controls.
Advisory Function Across Departments:
- Provide guidance to business units on governance, risk management, and best practices for compliance.
Compliance & Governance
Regulatory Adherence:
- Stay updated on relevant laws, financial regulations, and governance frameworks affecting internal audit practices.
Fraud Detection and Prevention:
- Assist in detecting and preventing fraud risks by reviewing transactions, system controls, and business operations.
Training & Awareness:
- Support training sessions for employees on internal controls, risk management, and compliance requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- CIA Certification (Mandatory)
- Additional certifications (e.g., CISA, ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
Experience:
- 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in Internal Audit.
- Experience in auditing financial, operational, and compliance processes.
- Exposure to data analytics tools and audit automation is preferred.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Strong understanding of audit methodologies and risk-based auditing approaches.
- Proficiency in data analytics and audit software tools (ACL, IDEA, or similar).
- Knowledge of governance frameworks (COSO, ISO, or COBIT) is an advantage.
- Salesforce experience is a clear plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Preferred: Tech Company Experience & Logistics Industry Experience
Experience in a technology-focused company / logistics industry is a plus.
