The jobholder is responsible for conducting instrumentation and control maintenance for equipment located in the respective asset, plant, or equipment. The goal is to ensure maintenance activities are performed safely, continuously, and reliably, according to their intended purpose, at a high quality level. Additionally, the jobholder must maintain personal tools and housekeeping in the instrumentation and control workshop to meet defined KPIs, and coordinate with contractors and external parties as required.
Key Accountabilities
Maintenance Execution
- Perform assigned jobs according to risk assessments and comply with ADNOC HSE Procedures.
- Conduct scheduled predictive, preventive, and proactive maintenance on plant equipment as per approved procedures and work instructions to ensure proper operating conditions and adherence to international standards.
- Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on all types of equipment independently with minimal supervision.
- Report tasks through proper communication channels.
- Record all activities in SAP, including time writing and technical feedback via notifications.
- Monitor equipment status during routine inspections, report abnormalities or defects.
- Assist or conduct major/minor repairs on critical equipment during shutdowns, maintaining data logs.
- Propose improvements to enhance HSE, maintenance programs, and equipment reliability.
- Support commissioning and pre-commissioning activities for new projects.
- Assist plant operations during emergencies, shutdowns, silent hours, and start-up phases.
- Participate in designing the company’s On-Call system for unplanned shutdowns and process upsets.
- Operate, repair, and test lifting equipment according to recognized standards.
- Participate in condition monitoring and notify engineers of any issues.
- Handle new installations, modifications, and testing of equipment, ensuring parameters are met before handover.
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults in rotating and static equipment using manuals, drawings, and diagrams.
- Perform shutdown maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on all rotating and static equipment.
- Operate and maintain electrical workshop tools and equipment as per OEM recommendations.
- Maintain workplace housekeeping and comply with all HSE and fire safety regulations.
- Discuss work assignments with supervisors, examine faulty equipment, and prepare necessary tools and parts.
- Identify spare parts needs from drawings and parts lists.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or equivalent in Instrument & Control discipline.
- Experience with electrical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of electrical plant safety procedures and quality records.
- Effective communication and technical report writing skills in English.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in installation, repair, testing, and maintenance in oil/gas or petrochemical industries.
- Thorough knowledge of HSE requirements for field maintenance.
- Basic SAP operations and computerized maintenance tools.
- Extensive experience with control valves, transmitters, and calibration tools like HART communicators.
- Familiarity with software for MCMS, DCS, PLC, and ESD systems.
- Ability to interpret and use documentation and engineering drawings for troubleshooting and maintenance.
