Senior Technician – Commercial Vehicles

JOB PURPOSE

Perform quality servicing and repairs on all mechanical and electrical components of motor vehicles to ensure they meet the manufacturer's specifications, following operating procedures to guarantee customer satisfaction.

Accountabilities

1. Operations: Identify customer requests, analyze them with the supervisor or foreman, and refine the repair process. Perform the requested work following the manufacturer's methods, recommendations, and operating procedures. Prepare service repair estimates and submit them to the foreman or team leader. Maintain communication with the foreman or team leader during the work to report progress and seek assistance as needed.
2. Tools & Equipment: Use manufacturer-provided tools and systems to carry out repairs according to manufacturer guidelines, maintaining high-quality standards. Ensure all tools and components in the work area are in good working condition.
3. Delivery: Conduct safety inspections and complete the quality control sheet to inform the team leader or foreman when the vehicle is ready. Prepare the vehicle for delivery, ensuring all equipment and accessories are in place, the vehicle is cleaned, and any damaged or old parts are returned to the customer if requested.
4. Safety: Follow safety rules for equipment, instruments, and products. Apply manufacturer directives and safety rules to prevent damage to vehicles or injury to personnel. Observe safety precautions to avoid occupational hazards during repair work.

Job Specific Information

The Senior Technician will closely work with the team leader, foreman, and service team, following operational procedures as instructed by Mercedes Benz.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Education Certificate
• Diploma in vocational technology (preferred)
• Certification as Technician in Electrical and Mechanical mastery (preferred)

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in repair work and operations within an automotive workshop environment
• Experience in working with commercial vehicles (trucks, buses, vans) is preferred
