Job Overview :
The Senior Director of QHSES is the functional leader responsible for Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (QHSES). They serve as a subject matter expert in QHSES matters for the organization and lead the development and implementation of the QHSES strategy, management systems, processes, tools, and performance measurement across Business Lines and Global Operations.
Essential Qualifications and Education :
- Degree in a QHSES-related field from an accredited university
- 15+ years of QHSES experience within the energy industry
- Membership in a professional QHSES institute
- Extensive functional, business, industry, and leadership expertise
- Industry and professional certifications within the QHSES field
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in management systems and MS Office applications
- Global and international QHSES leadership experience
- Ability to provide industry benchmarking and internal/external performance trend analysis
- Representation of McDermott QHSES at client/peer meetings, industry organizations, and international conferences
- Serves as the QHSES SME to the QHSES Leadership Council
Key Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Liaise with executive leaders, operations, functional managers, business line QHSES directors, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Drive strategic critical thinking and action within the business lines and global operations
- Lead the development and implementation of QHSES strategy, management systems, processes, tools, and performance measurement
- Ensure effective communication and understanding of QHSES strategies across the organization
- Support the development and implementation of tools and processes to support the QHSES function
- Measure and continuously improve the effectiveness of the QHSES function and processes
- Manage the QHSES functional budget
- Develop and maintain global QHSES management systems and ensure compliance with ISO certifications
- Monitor the effectiveness and implementation of QHSES management and data systems
- Prepare annual QHSES program and activity plans
- Maintain adequate levels of competent QHSES personnel and support leadership across business lines and global operations
- Perform QHSES assurance activities to ensure effective process implementation
- Ensure effective tracking and sharing of lessons learned and best practices
- Support development, measurement, and analysis of QHSES statistics, KPIs, and metrics
- Inform business lines and global operations of security threat alerts
