Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inspector of Materials to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of materials used in construction projects, contributing to the overall success and safety of our operations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Inspect site conditions prior to the start of construction activities, verifying compatibility with designed permanent works.
  2. Review and document materials delivered to the site, ensuring conformance with approved samples, specifications, and quality standards.
  3. Conduct thorough inspections of construction materials both in the laboratory and onsite.
  4. Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintaining accurate records of all tests performed and work executed.
  5. Collaborate with project managers and contractors to address material-related issues or discrepancies.
  6. Monitor proper storage and handling of materials onsite.
  7. Assist in the preparation of punch lists and participate in startup testing and commissioning processes.
  8. Review and provide recommendations on RFIs and variance requests from contractors.
  9. Ensure compliance with local and international construction standards and safety regulations.
  10. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in material inspection.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant technical field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in laboratory materials testing, including field inspection of samples and materials.
  • Experience in the Middle East is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in roads and bridges projects.
