Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES About the role

Our company is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to lead our accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations and ensuring that all financial transactions are processed accurately and timely.

As a Finance Controller, you will:

  1. Recovery and Collection
  2. Report on collection activity & accounts receivable status
  3. Manage and collect debts from company debtors/partners
  4. Respond to client inquiries
  5. Approve quotes & SOs for invoicing
  6. Prepare bi-monthly forecasts
  7. Liaise with customers and the sales team
  8. Manage PDC collection
  9. Identify and allocate bank receipts
  10. Resolve invoice payment issues and reconcile customer accounts
  11. Report to management on outstanding issues and potential debtor problems
  12. Identify credit risks and exposure
  13. Monitor accounts for outstanding debts
  14. Assist in the LC process and negotiations
  15. Assist in annual audit preparations related to credit management
  16. Assist in preparing HSBC Lines (TWC + Import Lines)
  17. Credit Management
  18. Prepare new credit requests and conduct client credit checks
  19. Archive documents and manage databases
  20. Ensure adherence to credit & collection policies and procedures
  21. KPI's
  22. Collection Effectiveness Index (CEI)
  23. Average Age of Debt or Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
  24. Commitments to pay

Qualifications and Experience About you

The ideal Financial Controller will have:

  1. A Degree and/or Certification in Accounting / Finance
  2. At least 3 years of experience in financial accounting or as a finance controller
  3. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  4. Understanding of tax regulations in GCC, including Withholding Tax and Income Tax
  5. Working knowledge of ERP systems
  6. Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  7. Proven track record in financial analysis and forecasting
  8. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  9. Excellent communication and leadership skills
  10. Well organized with a proactive approach
  11. Ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders and cross-functional teams
