Responsibilities :
- Implement and adhere to AtkinsRéalis internal HSE management systems and procedures for the PMC team.
- Ensure project HSE requirements are followed and enforced among the AtkinsRéalis team.
- Monitor staff compliance with safety standards and procedures, reporting violations to the Project Manager.
- Assess and report on HSE compliance of Contractors and Subcontractors, ensuring adherence to contractual and legislative requirements.
- Highlight critical safety issues to the AtkinsRéalis Project Manager for prompt action.
- Conduct safety training sessions for staff.
- Perform daily site safety tours and document findings.
- Issue Safety Enforcement Notices as per procedures.
- Follow up on HSE issues with Contractors to ensure timely resolution.
- Review and comment on Contractors' HSE plans, risk assessments, and work method statements.
- Develop and update HSE documentation, including safety plans and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents and incidents involving AtkinsRéalis staff and compile reports.
- Lead weekly safety meetings, documenting minutes and reporting safety issues.
- Maintain HSE registers and reports related to training, incidents, inspections, etc.
- Report accidents immediately to the relevant managers.
- Coordinate with the HSE Manager for advice and major safety issues.
- Monitor compliance with UAE HSSE legislation and Contractor HSE plans.
- Liaise with all project stakeholders on safety matters.
- Prepare safety reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure safety measures for staff are in place and provide necessary training.
- Mentor and coordinate safety activities within the team.
- Conduct inductions for new staff.
Project Interface :
- Report HSE concerns to the AtkinsRéalis PM/RE.
- Support the implementation of HSE management systems and audits.
- Coordinate and resolve HSE issues with the project team.
- Analyze HSE trends and recommend improvements.
- Assist in closing out HSE issues and preparing weekly and monthly reports.
- Lead and coordinate weekly HSE meetings and mentor staff.
Client Interface :
- Provide HSE reports and recommendations as required by the client.
- Attend client meetings related to HSE.
Contractor Interface :
- Inspect sites daily with HSE teams to identify hazards and control risks.
- Report inspection findings and conduct safety meetings.
Design Office Interface :
- Identify HSE risks related to design issues and escalate appropriately.
Functional Duties :
- Take responsibility for HSE works on the project.
- Monitor contractor performance and address safety concerns.
- Review and implement HSE procedures and plans.
- Address safety issues proactively.
Administrative Duties :
- Maintain HSE documentation and assist with audits.
- Coordinate leave requests and prepare HSE reports.
Qualifications & Certifications :
- 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum HSE qualifications with NEBOSH Diploma / IGC.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Lead auditor course (ISO45001 and ISO14001).
- OSHAD / ADOSH certification.
- Membership in IIRSM / IOSH preferred.
- Based in Abu Dhabi with prior UAE experience in a similar role.
