Job description

The Head of Contract Logistics in the United Arab Emirates has the overall responsibility for managing the Contract Logistics department. As a Head of CL, you will be responsible for the P&L of all the Hellmann entity operations, along with implementing strategic and operational objectives related to the growth of Contract Logistics.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Develop strong internal relationships and work within a matrix organization.
2. Close collaboration and relationship development with UAE stakeholders.
3. Provide leadership to all operations under your responsibility.
4. Develop strong relationships with customers across the country (existing and potential).
5. Develop and lead contract logistics business development to ensure year-on-year growth.
6. Develop business plans and solutions for new opportunities or concepts that may materialize.
7. Develop strong relationships with the regional contract logistics team.
8. Provide strategic input to the future development of contract logistics in UAE.
9. Work in line with and roll out global CL strategies into the UAE.
10. Ensure all operations are in line with Hellmann compliance policies.
11. Adapt and think in line with different industry vertical solutions.
12. Provide expertise to support the personal development of all team members.
13. Make decisions on the sourcing and negotiation of new warehouse premises.
14. Control and develop procurement strategies.

SKILLS :

1. Be a transparent leader and continually share experience and knowledge.
2. Ability to monitor, control, and improve P&L for Contract Logistics.
3. Detailed financial knowledge of cost structures and fees.
4. Recognize potential bottlenecks and risks to the business and work with teams on mitigations.
5. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills on multiple levels to ensure goals are met.
6. Ability to technically execute quotations for extensive warehouse operations based on RFQ.
7. Detailed warehousing knowledge for processes, infrastructure, IT solutions, and resources.
8. Strong expertise and experience within the CL division.
9. Ability to deliver solutions through presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, preferably in Logistics.
2. Significant experience in Contract Logistics within a senior leadership role (5-10 years), ideally experienced in both operations and business development.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
