Stantec is looking to hire an HSE Engineer to join our growing site supervision team in RAK.

The HSE Engineer shall implement the safety rules of the company and the client, supervise different areas to promote and maintain a safe working environment.

Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and review of HSE Plans, risk assessments, HSE procedures, audit plans
  • Conducting HSE audits, inspections, incident investigations as per OHSAS 18001 requirements, OSHAD International and local requirements
  • Coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure compliance by all parties with the company's HSE requirements, regulations, and all relevant legislation and statutory requirements, including rules and regulations (as amended from time to time)
  • Manage in a manner that achieves quality installations meeting performance parameters set out in the Statement of Requirements within the cost and schedule targets set by the company
  • Ensure that all actions, works, and services undertaken by contractors are in accordance with their respective agreements with the company
  • Ensure compliance with the company's objectives, requirements, policies, procedures, standards, rules, regulations, and guidelines provided by the company from time to time
  • Review and approve the HSE deliverables of the project
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure they are executed as per the HSE plan and procedures
  • Develop and execute a personal HSE intervention plan, including safety inspections, hazard identification, and participation in HSE meetings
  • Support the identification of HSE hazards, evaluate risks, and develop tools to manage and reduce these risks
  • Participate in and/or review formal safety assessments and review HSE-related documentation to ensure compliance with standards
  • Implement improvement and prohibition notices to contractors, set up recommendations and corrective actions with close-out dates, and follow up accordingly

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in the HSE domain in construction-related operations with consulting firms in UAE and ME
  • Level 06 Diploma or above in OSH
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
  • Experience letters from employers are mandatory as evidence of work experience in the HSE domain
