Job Description:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with the company HSE policy, legal requirements, and project-specific HSE plans.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and report unsafe acts/conditions.
- Ensure safe operations and compliance with heavy equipment and machinery at the site.
- Conduct HSE induction training for new joiners and organize regular safety training sessions for all site personnel.
- Oversee and coordinate HSE performance of subcontractors to ensure alignment with company standards and legal requirements.
- Participate in hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA); assist in implementing control measures.
- Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including drills and first responder coordination.
- Ensure proper maintenance and availability of firefighting, lifesaving, and first aid equipment.
- Lead and assist in investigation of incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses; identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Report all incidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions, and observations to the HSE Manager with proper documentation.
- Ensure safety documentation, permits, and records are up-to-date and audit-ready.
- Monitor environmental aspects on-site including waste, emissions, spill control, and noise.
- Promote sustainability initiatives such as resource conservation, waste segregation, and pollution prevention.
- Champion employee wellbeing (physical and mental) by supporting ISO 45003-based initiatives.
- Conduct awareness programs and toolbox talks covering safety, health, and wellbeing.
- Promote safe working hours, hydration, fatigue management, and mental health support.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Projects, HR, Store, Admin) to ensure safe operations.
- Ensure all client and internal HSE communications, circulars, and compliance instructions are communicated and followed by relevant site staff.
- Liaise with Clients, Consultants, and local authorities on HSE matters.
