Job description

Field Service Engineer

The Field Service Engineer provides service and customer support at customer locations for the full line of AMETEK Level Measurement Solutions (LMS) products. Responsibilities include operational verification, commissioning, startup, configuration, troubleshooting, preventive or corrective repairs, and training on all AMETEK LMS products.

Responsibilities
  1. Travel to job sites within the designated home region(s).
  2. Provide customers with support at the location of installed products, including commissioning, configuring, and evaluating installations.
  3. Troubleshoot product and process-related issues.
  4. Perform testing functions.
  5. Repair, replace, or initiate RMA processes for defective parts.
  6. Prepare and monitor documentation sent to customers.
  7. Manage field support cases in the business system related to field service visits.
  8. Communicate effectively with customers to convey site visit results.
  9. Share product and commercial remarks with the service team to collaborate with sales, product management, engineering, and other support departments to resolve or escalate customer issues.
  10. Identify quality issues and escalate to the appropriate departments.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 1-3 years of industry-related knowledge and experience, preferably in electronics, electromechanical systems, or instrumentation.
  • Basic technical aptitude and electro-mechanical skills.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, including with outside sales and customers.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of safety training courses, including HUET (helicopter underwater escape).
