Job description

JOB PURPOSE :

To manage and lead the multicultural team of I&C Technicians and apply specialist I&C expertise to carry out fault investigations, defect rectification, preventive maintenance, and modification jobs at Power and Desalination Plant.

To ensure plant I&C equipment is maintained to maximize reliability and availability, following OEM instructions and approved maintenance procedures.

To assist the I&C Engineer in ensuring all I&C equipment is well maintained and all notifications for planned and unplanned work are completed on time.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Description

Performance Indicators

Safety at Work

• Ensures compliance with IMS and maintains a safe working environment for all personnel and contractors.
• Obtains necessary Permits to Work for each job.
• Follows all Method Statements, Work Instructions, and Procedures during work activities.
• Ensures availability of appropriate tools for safe work execution.
• Supervises I&C Technicians and Contractors to adhere to safety and HSE procedures.
• Reports unsafe conditions promptly.

Continuous application of Safety rules and HSE procedures; monitoring safety incidents, near misses, and LTIFR; ensuring no HSE non-compliance.

Maintenance Task Planning and Execution

• Ensures maintenance tasks are completed as per Work Orders in CMMS.
• Documents work carried out in CMMS and produces necessary reports.
• Plans and ensures maintenance of all I&C equipment following OEM manuals and best practices.
• Coordinates with the Engineer for proper scheduling of maintenance activities.

Ensures work is completed efficiently, with quality reports and proper documentation.

Equipment Failure Troubleshooting and Repair

• Supports 24-hour operation and is available for call-outs.
• Reduces equipment downtime and maximizes plant availability.
• Performs troubleshooting, rectifies defects, and records all activities.
• Conducts Root Cause Analysis and collaborates with Plant Operations to resolve issues.

Focus on work efficiency, record quality, and 24-hour availability.

Reporting, Planning, and Budgeting

• Discusses planned and unplanned jobs with the Engineer.
• Assists in daily job planning and budgeting activities.

Ensures accuracy in planning and reporting.

Spares, Consumables, and Tools

• Ensures availability and proper use of tools and equipment.
• Reports damages or losses and communicates needs for tools or spares.

Maintains condition and quantity of tools and equipment.
