Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Technician to join our fast-paced and growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cardiovascular technology, excellent communication and critical thinking skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  1. Operate and maintain all equipment necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the cath lab, including but not limited to cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and ECG machines.
  2. Assist with and monitor patient vital signs during procedures, responding appropriately to any changes or abnormalities.
  3. Prepare and position patients for catheterization procedures, ensuring proper positioning and safety at all times.
  4. Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, including passing instruments, monitoring patient condition, and delivering necessary medications.
  5. Perform accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient information in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all supplies and equipment are stocked and readily available.
  7. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance efficiency and quality in patient care delivery.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology or related field preferred.
  2. Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT) required.
  3. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technician in a hospital or outpatient setting.
  4. Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, ECG interpretation, and cardiac medication administration.
  5. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to react quickly and calmly in high-pressure situations.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  7. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
