We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Technician to join our fast-paced and growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cardiovascular technology, excellent communication and critical thinking skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain all equipment necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the cath lab, including but not limited to cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and ECG machines.
- Assist with and monitor patient vital signs during procedures, responding appropriately to any changes or abnormalities.
- Prepare and position patients for catheterization procedures, ensuring proper positioning and safety at all times.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, including passing instruments, monitoring patient condition, and delivering necessary medications.
- Perform accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient information in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all supplies and equipment are stocked and readily available.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance efficiency and quality in patient care delivery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology or related field preferred.
- Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technician in a hospital or outpatient setting.
- Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, ECG interpretation, and cardiac medication administration.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to react quickly and calmly in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
