.Job Purpose:

To formulate and direct marketing activities and policies, while identifying and evaluating marketing strategies and ensuring implementation and effective management of the strategic pipeline and portfolio plans, five-year business plan, budget processes, operational marketing plans, and new product introduction, in coordination with the Sales, Pipeline Marketing and Analytics, and Portfolio Management teams, to support the development of new products in the market and meet the established goals of the business.

Key accountabilities:

Strategy

  • Participates in the development of the departmental strategy in line with the functional strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across the marketing support section.
  • Ensures that departmental strategies and related strategic plans are developed and implemented, which are aligned with the vision and mission of Julphar.

Policies, Processes & Procedures

  • Participates in the development and recommends improvement on marketing support department policies, and procedures, and manages the implementation to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled.

Budget

  • Oversees the consolidation and recommends the marketing support department budget and monitors financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Projects (optional, only for applicable jobs)

  • Leads and guides project management teams in the planning, organizing, management and control of various projects in order to ensure that the project cycle is completed meeting agreed project parameters (cost budget, timelines, scope and quality), standards and objectives.

Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Manages marketing functions, including product pipeline and sales operations, to deliver sales and profitability targets such as annual sales and marketing plans.
  • Outlines, implements, and leads strategic decisions including product portfolio, market segments, growth opportunities, competitive landscape and posture of the division, to leverage Business Development opportunities.
  • Develops overall product strategies, such as sales and marketing forecasts including rolling monthly forecasts to production planning, and annual sales/marketing plan, to estimate company goals and establish the five-year plan.
  • Develops and drives effective annual marketing strategies for reward programs and promotional strategies, to ensure maximum return on investment.
  • Provides leadership and management insights in each area of the business, and encourages development of individual and organizational capabilities, to ensure success of new product launches while maximizing performance of a large established portfolio.
  • Develops and directs the planning, implementing, and growth of marketing programs to assure profitable operation of a broad portfolio of products to maximize sales and profit.
  • Ensures maximum market penetration through working with the sales and supply chain team, to gain market share in the oral generics and specialized business.
  • Delivers high-level presentations by leveraging extensive portfolio and industry knowledge, along with the analysis and evaluation of overall business performance, to make recommendations for further investments to maximize continued success.
  • Strengthens communication between Marketing and Supply Chain, to ensure uninterrupted supply while maximizing the utilization of Julphar resources and capacity.
  • Oversees product development and monitors marketing trends and indicators, to develop marketing strategies and market new products.
  • Directs strategic brand management through driving commercial excellence and regional strategic projects in the areas of Pipeline Strategy, Portfolio Planning & Launch Excellence, Market access, and Digital & Multichannel Marketing, to support the development of medium and short-term plans and executive programs.
  • Administers the preparation of marketing budgets including financial and commercial batches, in coordination with responsible managers, in order to provide guidance for territory budget setting, oversee challenges of submitting local budgets/forecasts.
  • Monitors sales performance, and reviews surveys on customers, markets and competitors, to alter the marketing strategy accordingly and ensure the success of the marketing strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of regional marketing activities and events, to ensure the execution of tactical marketing plans.
  • Following new products development with the R&D department, to stay up to date with Julphar pipeline in line with the Marketing Strategy.
  • Oversee the design of marketing materials and the distribution of publications and promotions such as advertisements, drug leaflets and press releases, to ensure successful product launches.
  • Overseas and drives the implementation of new product development processes and launch readiness activities, and provides launch tracking KPI reporting/dashboards, to maintain a successful execution of marketing products.

People Management

  • Manages the effective achievement of marketing support departmental objectives through setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff to maximize subordinate performance.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stimulates subordinates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Reporting

  • Manages the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the section in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.

Related Assignments

  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • Advanced Science degree or MBA is preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • 12 -15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in the marketing, commercial or functional roles, of which at least 4 in a managerial position.
  • Experience in specialty therapeutic areas (biologics, biosimilars, oncology ,...)
  • Specific experience in SFE, digital and capability building is a plus.
