Job description

Role: Head of Wealth Products, Portfolio and Proposition

Location: Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose: The role will be a senior position (effectively deputy to the Head of Wealth Management), overseeing wealth management products, propositions, portfolio growth, and new sales. The responsibilities include:

  • Wealth products
  • Wealth/Investment Advisory
  • Wealth Portfolio Quality and AUM growth
  • Wealth Governance / Process Controls (with governance team)
  • Wealth Proposition
Key Accountabilities of the role
  • Managing wealth products, sourcing new products from third parties or through ADIB Capital, and enhancing existing offerings, including client communication and portfolio updates to increase customer engagement and investment sales.
  • Managing wealth portfolios across the entire segment to maximize customer returns, optimize holdings, and manage concentration risks, including:
    • Monitoring customer returns
    • Reviewing portfolio mix for suitability
    • Assessing exposures and concentration risks
    • Adapting strategies based on market dynamics
  • Providing wealth advisory services, including:
    • Regular updates to clients and portfolio indicators
    • Portfolio performance discussions with RMs and advisors
    • Designing customer-specific portfolio strategies
    • Conducting needs analysis for portfolio adjustments
  • Developing and enhancing the wealth proposition by creating targeted customer engagement programs based on segmentation and portfolio holdings. Driving new product sales through RMs and investment advisors, with direct responsibility for sales targets and AUM growth, including:
    • Setting sales and AUM targets and budgets
    • Designing incentive schemes
    • Monitoring performance regularly
    • Training programs for RMs
  • Leading digital initiatives, such as:
    • Enhancing digital journeys from onboarding to transactions
    • Launching new digital products like crypto and gold accounts
    • Developing robo-advisory and customer-managed portfolios
  • Collaborating with external parties like UBF/SCA to ensure:
    • Market leadership in new opportunities and product capabilities
    • Regulatory compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Exploring new business opportunities like pension funds or expanding into new GCC regions.

  • 18-20 years in managing wealth management for a large international or UAE bank, reporting to senior management
  • University degree is mandatory
  • Knowledge of marketing dynamics, competitor products, and local regulations (Central Bank/SCA)
  • Experience with both regulated and non-regulated products
  • Ability to budget, forecast, and analyze financial data
