Job Responsibilities

1. Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression within the department and, when appropriate, in collaboration with other schools in the AJ Group following the same curriculum.
2. Ensure teachers understand the teaching and learning objectives, success criteria, and the sequence of instruction, and communicate this effectively to students.
3. Support colleagues in selecting appropriate teaching methods and resources to meet diverse student needs.
4. Establish and implement clear policies for assessing, recording, and reporting student achievement in line with school and ADEK policies.
5. Evaluate teaching effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and take actions to enhance teaching quality.
6. Review weekly lesson plans based on the curriculum and guide teachers in their implementation.
7. Identify and report training needs for subject teachers at least once per trimester.
8. Collaborate with teachers to organize quizzes, seminars, competitions, and other activities.
9. Prepare agendas for meetings, communicate in advance, and document all discussions according to school policy.
10. Hold monthly meetings with SALT members to discuss progress and plan future actions.
11. Prepare and present end-of-term and end-of-year reports to SALT and other HODs, highlighting accomplishments, issues, and plans.
12. Collaborate with teachers to update curricula, including selecting textbooks and supplementary materials.
13. Coordinate with teachers to determine and approve requirements for labs, libraries, and other resources, and oversee procurement.
14. Supervise and verify assessment standards, including exam question quality.
15. Maintain a student database and monitor performance through faculty meetings.
16. Work with counselors to identify and support slow learners and gifted students, and organize remedial or extension activities.
17. Assess classroom teaching through regular observations to ensure content quality and teaching effectiveness.
