Due to a strong pipeline of projects, our Abu Dhabi team is rapidly growing, and we are seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer (Civil & Wet Utilities) to undertake an infrastructure project. The project is based in Madinat Zayed.

  • In this role, you will work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team across a variety of infrastructure, buildings, transport, and other project types. This role involves
  • Assisting the Resident Engineer in managing daily operational functions, reviewing and approving contractor submittals, and participating in quality control and assurance. Under the supervision of the RE or MEP Lead,
  • Performing routine inspections and monitoring tasks to ensure proper construction supervision by others.
  • Inspecting various aspects of work on-site and performing continuous surveillance to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Documenting non-conformance issues and participating in determining appropriate resolutions.
  • Assisting the Resident Engineer in overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring adherence to project specifications and local regulations.
  • Reviewing and analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and preparing detailed reports on project progress.
  • Collaborating with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project budgets, schedules, and quality control measures.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations on construction sites.
  • Participating in project meetings and communicating effectively with team members and clients.
  • Assisting in the preparation of change orders, contract modifications, and other project documentation.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of sustainable construction practices.

What you will bring to the team

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years postgraduate experience, with at least 7 years on large projects.
  • Regional experience is preferred.
  • Authority registration is preferred.
  • A professional capable of managing and coordinating specialized activities, disciplines, or a team of moderate size and complexity.
  • UAE Driving License.
  • Good communication skills and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience in infrastructure projects.
