Job Purpose : The Senior Marketing Manager independently establishes, maintains, and evaluates marketing plans aligned with Event Strategies, with final sign-off from the Portfolio Marketing Lead.

Direct Reports : Likely includes a Marketing Manager (if applicable), Marketing Executive, and/or Marketing Coordinators. The role involves managing, nurturing, and empowering both direct and indirect reports.

Key Accountabilities :

Leadership & Team Management :

  • Manage a team of marketers across various events within the portfolio.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and inspiration to direct reports.
  • Foster a culture of positivity, high performance, and growth.
  • Develop development roadmaps for high potentials where applicable.
  • Ensure team members are competent managers with necessary skills and training.
  • Identify training needs and ensure technical proficiency.
  • Champion the adoption of marketing technology solutions.
  • Influence senior team members with fact-based insights and feedback.

Planning, Campaign Management & Execution, Analysis & Insights :

  • Lead strategic planning and execution of integrated multi-channel marketing plans and budgets aligned with Event Strategy.
  • Understand industry, supply chain, and stakeholder profiles for effective segmentation and messaging.
  • Develop personas, value propositions, and messaging strategies.
  • Collaborate with team to ensure campaign success and KPI achievement.
  • Create and implement content marketing strategies that resonate with target audiences.
  • Develop website strategies to attract and convert visitors, utilizing Google Analytics for effectiveness.
  • Maintain up-to-date show websites with current information.
  • Manage social media channels to attract, engage, and convert followers.
  • Implement data build and verification strategies aligned with event goals and KPIs.
  • Coordinate with internal compliance and shared services teams to meet deadlines and requirements.
  • Manage third-party agencies and partners with clear service level agreements.
  • Build relationships with media partners and associations for awareness and participation.
  • Oversee the design and production of marketing collateral.
  • Write creative, persuasive copy for various media, ensuring approval and accuracy.
  • Analyze response rates and trends to improve campaigns and identify growth opportunities.
  • Share insights with sales, event teams, and management using analytical tools.
  • Gather feedback from core customer profiles to meet expectations and industry changes.
  • Explore and test new marketing channels and techniques.
  • Contribute to team projects and initiatives with flexibility.

Qualifications and experience :

  • At least 4-5 years of demonstrable experience in events and/or B2B media.
  • Experience in marketing with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing best practices, especially social media marketing.
  • Experience in the Middle East market is a plus.
  • Arabic language skills (written and spoken) are a strong asset.
  • Willingness to travel for business and events.
  • Experience managing key stakeholder relations and liaising with senior industry figures.
  • Up-to-date with latest trends in 360 marketing and measurement.
