Qualifications

This role is a full-time office-based position in Sharjah, UAE, with travel requirements.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Instrument and Control Engineer to join our UAE Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an international client operator to deliver a portfolio of onshore capital projects by providing engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as supply chain, construction, and commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices.

Projects include both Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects, integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

  • Supporting and supervising delegated tasks

  • Carrying out site surveys and queries
  • Reviewing design work
  • Ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget
  • Assisting in preparing CTRs and man-hour estimates
  • Participating in meetings
  • Supporting procurement and project engineering in equipment/material procurement
  • Liaising with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication, and commissioning issues

QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:

  • An engineering degree is essential
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant oil & gas industry experience with design experience in onshore Oil and Gas projects, including Brownfield projects
  • Thorough knowledge of Instrument engineering design
  • Understanding of relevant international codes and standards
  • Experience with Field Instrument & Valves (Safety, Shutdown, Control Valves), Technical Bid Evaluation, and Vendor package management
  • Experience with ICSS (PCS, SIS, FGS), preferably Emerson Delta V System
  • Experience in brownfield and FEED projects
  • Experience in EPC projects
  • Knowledge of HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Proficiency in SPI (INtools), Flow Meter, Control Valve Sizing Software, and MS Office
  • Team working skills
