Job Title: Insurance Department Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Insurance Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of insurance operations across our group of companies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for risk evaluation, policy management, insurance procurement, claims handling, and ensuring compliance with local and international insurance regulations. This role plays a vital part in safeguarding the company’s financial health and operational continuity through robust risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Insurance Operations Management

  • Oversee the administration and daily operations of the insurance department.
  • Develop and implement insurance policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure timely payment of insurance premiums and the collection of credit notes.
  • Maintain proper documentation and storage of all original insurance policies.
  • Evaluate risk exposures across the organization and advise management on mitigation strategies.
  • Recommend suitable insurance coverage to minimize financial losses.
  • Prepare monthly reports on risk assessment, coverage adequacy, premiums, and claim statuses.

Insurance Policy Review & Procurement

  • Analyze insurance policies to ensure adequate coverage and favorable terms.
  • Communicate insurance needs to providers to secure comprehensive coverage at competitive rates.
  • Conduct techno-commercial comparisons and recommend insurance procurement or renewals to management.

Claims Management

  • Initiate and manage insurance claims promptly in line with policy terms.
  • Negotiate and monitor claim settlements to ensure optimal recovery.
  • Liaise regularly with insurers for follow-up on claim settlements.

Contractual Insurance Compliance

  • Review insurance provisions in contracts with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Ensure all third-party insurance submissions meet contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure risk mitigation clauses are enforced.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Maintain professional relationships with insurance companies and brokers.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary data for risk and coverage evaluation.
  • Advise business heads and managers on insurance-related matters.

Regulatory & Legal Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with UAE insurance laws and applicable international regulations.
  • Review and recommend policy endorsements in line with contract or escrow requirements.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support the legal and finance teams in insurance-related audits and inquiries.
  • Carry out special assignments and tasks as directed by senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field; professional certification in insurance or risk management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in insurance and risk management, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies, contracts, and claims procedures.
