Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Superintendent for our client ADNOC in Abu Dhabi within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectations, this position will be based onsite in Habshan, Abu Dhabi.

The Key Objectives for This Role
  • Ensure project quality and integrity, bringing projects in on schedule and within budget using in-house procedures
  • Oversee total construction field effort to ensure adherence to design, specifications, budgets, and schedules
  • Manage projects or project subsets with values above USD 500 million
Responsibilities
  • Manage construction and contractor-related deliverables
  • Supervise all areas on small projects or specific disciplines on larger projects
  • Manage and execute multiple field disciplines in accordance with contractual and company policies
  • Ensure work quality standards are met
  • Control project costs and schedules for assigned disciplines
  • Manage installation, commissioning, and completion activities
  • Coordinate work schedules of field personnel to maximize utilization and ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor work progress and report against plans
  • Define and communicate safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities
  • Ensure workers are trained and compliant with safety and site-specific requirements
  • Implement safety, quality, and environmental processes, including toolbox meetings and inspections
  • Manage project variations and control costs
  • Coordinate equipment, subcontractors, and project-specific requirements
  • Understand and manage industrial relations impacting the site
  • Collaborate with engineering during design phases for optimal constructability
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications

We welcome candidates who meet some of the following criteria:

  • Degree with a minimum of 15 years of Oil and Gas industry experience, including at least 5 years on major capital projects (> USD 500M) with a focus on Construction and Site Management
  • Experience within an Oil and Gas operating company is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to project needs
  • Qualified to obtain a CICPA and UAE work visa
