About the Role

The Sales Assistant at GMG will be responsible for promoting products and services to customers, aiming to maximize sales opportunities and provide exceptional service.

Core Responsibilities
  • Describe product features and benefits; demonstrate product use and handling.
  • Educate clients on brand quality standards and specifications.
  • Advise customers on product ranges suited to their needs; answer queries to assist in purchase decisions.
  • Provide information on warranties, features, specifications, and maintenance of products.
  • Ensure customer needs are met, resolve or escalate complaints, and deliver high-standard customer service.
  • Stay informed about new product launches, promotional events, and sales.
  • Achieve sales targets through sales techniques, up-selling, and cross-selling.
  • Ensure promotions and pricing are accurate and compliant with company policies.
  • Calculate sale prices and discounts; maintain sales records.
  • Handle cash, change, and credit payments; generate invoices and receipts.
  • Operate as a cashier with accuracy in money handling (if applicable).
  • Follow store after-sales processes, including repair and return policies.
  • Adhere to loss prevention, inventory controls, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in store merchandising and product placement.
  • Maintain high standards of store housekeeping and grooming etiquette.
Self-Management
  • Set performance goals at the start of the year in consultation with the manager and work towards achieving them.
  • Take ownership of personal learning needs and develop an individual growth plan beyond training.
  • Stay updated on professional developments, new techniques, and industry issues through continuous education.
