A leading company is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to oversee stormwater and drainage projects. The role involves managing construction activities, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor's in civil engineering and have extensive experience in infrastructure projects.
The Assistant Resident Engineer will be involved in projects related to stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks, and water distribution networks. Responsibilities include investigations, pipeline valves, rising main construction supervision, and monitoring of design and infrastructure work. The role is based in Abu Dhabi.
Key accountabilities include:
- Assist the Resident Engineer in managing daily construction activities, interacting with contractors, subcontractors, and monitoring construction work.
- Coordinate with government departments, contractors, consultants, and the public to facilitate progress and prevent delays.
- Maintain logs of project progress, handovers, and final accounts.
- Arrange and chair progress meetings with government and interface agencies, and distribute minutes.
- Assist in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and related correspondence.
- Prepare instructions, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate scheduling and resource application with contractor engineers.
- Monitor inspectors and surveyors' performance.
- Review and approve design documents and construction plans.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Keep records and assist in project handover and obtaining final clearance.
- Identify non-conforming works, generate reports, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Perform other responsibilities as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
- Liaise with internal and external clients, including DM Infrastructure.
- Build and maintain positive relationships.
- Have experience in utility diversions and management.
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company policies.
- Complete work in line with Stantec’s core values and quality procedures.
- Design with safety considerations, including Construction Design Management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Resident Engineer.
